Before you buy equipment, see what a realistic month of bookings would actually leave you. All figures stay in your browser.
1. Set your assumptions
Examples below are illustrative inputs, not observed market rates. Replace them with your own quotes and local demand estimates.
First-year net after equipment cost
Assuming the same booking volume every month.
Estimates exclude taxes and costs you didn't enter. The payback calculation assumes steady monthly bookings, with no seasonality, downtime or canceled reservations.
How this is calculated
Per-booking contribution = price − per-booking cost − payment processing (percentage of booking price). Monthly operating contribution = bookings × per-booking contribution − monthly fixed costs. First-year estimated net = 12 × monthly operating contribution − equipment purchase. Negative results mean the assumptions don't recover the modeled cost.
Payback months = equipment purchase ÷ positive monthly operating contribution, rounded up. The first-year break-even booking count covers the equipment purchase and 12 months of fixed overhead at the modeled unit contribution. Neither accounts for calendar seasonality or financing.
What to do with the result
- Run a conservative scenario with half as many bookings as you hoped.
- Include a realistic cost for your own time and any extra insurance.
- Get actual pricing and demand evidence before purchasing inventory.
